travelers stories about Forest in Uetliberg, Switzerland

Forest in Uetliberg, Switzerland

5 km from Swiss National Museum

I had hiked up Uetliberg, a small mountain near Zurich, to capture the fall colors that I had seen covering the hillside. However, as I made my way further up the mountain, the forest became shrouded in fog, and a whole new side of the forest revealed itself!

travelers stories about Dock in Lake Zug, Switzerland

Dock in Lake Zug, Switzerland

28 km from Swiss National Museum

This photo was taken during my business trip in Switzerland. I arrived on the first of August, the national holiday when Swiss celebrate the founding of the Swiss Confederacy. I went for a stroll to explore the surroundings of the hotel which lies on the Zugersee lake. The place was very quiet and almost scary, I could hear only my own footsteps on the wooden pier and splashes of water as the small waves gently touched the shore.

The photo was taken in Euthal, Switzerland, early morning in December. All the week was snowing but that day the sun was shining. A nice fog was covering some part of the lake that was almost frozen.

Picture of the Grosser Mythen mountain is Switzerland done during a snowshoe walk around the mountain. The mountain is basically a huge stone, almost no trees, and a nice contrast with the white snow.

travelers stories about Mountain range in Fronalpstock, Switzerland

Mountain range in Fronalpstock, Switzerland

46 km from Swiss National Museum

Life is full of adventures. This image was created during one of my own adventures on the top of Fronalpstock in Switzerland. During the day thousands and thousands of tourists where passing by this spot. But the last chairlift was running at 5:30pm. Suddently the place became very quiet and calm. The fog started to clear up and reveal the two peaks. This image represents one of the most beautiful sunsets I ever saw.

Imagine you are above the fog. Seeing the sun set. Then you turn around and see this. A mountain summit peaking out of the fog and catching fire. Goosebumps all over your body. And a refreshing feeling of joy and thankfulness filling up your body. This is Switzerland. This I can call my home. I really appreciate that a lot lately.

The Alpstein in northwest Switzerland is so dense and small, it is just perfect for touristy pictures. I live here but still feel like a tourist every single time.

Crater lake in Wildsee, Switzerland

There are many beautiful hikes in Switzerland. But the 5-lake hike in Pizol is just amazing. It is very popular. On weekends there are thousands of people hiking this trail. Not only because it is very accessible. It is also just breathtaking. You can do the hike within 4.5 - 5 hours if you’re in shape. And you can take a swim in some of the lakes, if you dare.

Standing atop the Rhône Glacier over 3,600 meters (12,000 ft) up in the Swiss Alps. - The Rhône Glacier is one of the primary contributors to Lake Geneva and is the largest glacier in the Urner Alps. - It has retreated at a rate of 1300 meters during the last 120 years. At this rate, it will soon be gone for good.

I went on a little adventure with my friends. We went to the Rheinschlucht (aka the swiss grand canyon). I brought my drone and took it for a flight. Everything went good. Later we went to another place too shoot the rheinschlucht from a new perspective. I flown my drone again. Unfortunately I crashed this time - on the other side of the river - My friend did exactly the same 5 minutes later. Wasn’t a good drone day.

Hill station in SAC Cadlimohütte, Switzerland

91 km from Swiss National Museum

After a 3.5 hour hike we reached our goal for the day. Capanna Cadlino. A hut managed by the SAC (Schweizer Alpen Club / Swiss Alpine Club). Opening Times are from mid of June until mid of October. The hut is located at 2570m above sea level. It has around 80 beds and you can stay there for free, if you make it over the slack line without falling into the water (which is below the slack line) =) More information: http://www.cadlimohuette.ch/cadlimo-huette/
